Description
Mackerel scad lives in warm, open waters around islands, reefs and offshore areas across Indonesian seawater. It is found especially in the central and eastern areas, such as Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua, and also in southern Java and Bali waters.
Size
Size 6-10 pcs per kg is quite common and is often used as tuna bait. Other sizes are available on request.
Benefit
Mackerel scad is a good source of high-quality protein and omega-3 fatty acids, which support heart health. It also provides vitamin B12 and minerals such as selenium. It may help with cholesterol and healthy weight management. As a small, fast-growing pelagic fish, it has low mercury levels and is considered safe for general consumption.
